Wu Zhongliang, Director of the Institute of Earthquake Forecasting (IEF), CEA, signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Vladimir Kamzolkin, Deputy Director of The Schmidt Institute of Physics of the Earth (IPE), the Russian Academy of Sciences, on October 27, 2018, in Beijing.

The content of cooperation field includes trigger effects in seismicity – field and laboratory scale studies to improve methods for seismic hazard assessment, study of the capabilities of the MEE (Map of Expected Earthquake) algorithm for intermediate-term prediction of strong earthquakes at the China Seismic Experimental Site, and investigation of long series of seismic records for the purpose of long-term prediction based on the study of seismic noise coherence measures.
